The Director and Staff: Ms. Pat Mackay, Director

Originally from the U.S., Pat has been living in Ireland for the past 18 years. She has her Degree in Education from Montclair State University, New Jersey, and has been involved in teaching languages (German, French and English) for the past 25 years. Her office door is always open and students are welcome to drop in to say hello, ask advice, complain about the weather, extend their stay - whatever!

We work with a small group of 8-10 teachers. We'd like to introduce a few of them to you:

Alan, Director of Studies (joined LLC April, 1997)
Alan got his degree in science before realizing that his true calling was in the English classroom. He's lived and taught in Spain and travelled extensively.

Susan, Senior Staff Member (joined LLC August, 1995)
Although Susan has taught every level to every age, you're most likely to meet her if you are preparing for an advanced level examination. Susan enjoys travel (recently clocking up 4 continents in 12 months!) and good music, which means Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan.

Lynda (joined LLC February, 2000)
After a year spent teaching in Segovia, Spain, Lynda decided to return to the home ground and to her favorite Irish things: hurling, Gaelic football, Guinness and Leprechaun Hunting. She still hasn't found that pot of gold but she's optimistic that she will!

Jennifer (joined LLC June, 1997)
In the past few years, Jennifer has conquered South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Alaska and Morocco. In between she has somehow found time to teach at the Limerick Language Centre. Although her passion is geography, she has an even keener interest in meteorology. No wonder Jennifer's happiest at home- the weather is the number one topic of discussion here in Ireland!

  Debbie (joined LLC January, 2003)
Debbie has taught in Spain and Japan, where she was able to indulge in her love of martial arts.

Nial (joined LLC October, 2001)
Nial has travelled and worked extensively in Germany and the Middle East. He is a keen sports fan and guitarist and enjoys sharing both these passions in the classroom.

Peadar (joined LLC September, 2006)
Peadar has taught in Japan and since returning to his home city has worked closely with the local Polish community.

Marianne (joined LLC September, 2007)
Having briefly worked in archaeology, Marianne went on to teach in England, France and Australia.

Helena (joined LLC January, 2008)
Helena is our most recent arrival but she comes to us with plenty of experience having taught for a number of years in Barcelona. A trained singer, Helena often brings her cheery voice to the classroom believing music makes learning more interesting.

Clair (joined LLC April, 2007)
Clair has taught in Mexico and, having fallen in love with that part of the world, recently returned there on a 3-month holiday after completing her Master's Degree in English Language Teaching.
